SYNOPSIS
CHALLENGE
The Crown Heights Service Center, Inc & Board of Directors needed a platform that could streamline communication, increase access to vital resources, and encourage community participation. Key features required included a registration system for after-school and summer programs, an up-to-date events calendar, and a centralized resource hub with helpful links for families and individuals in the community. The site had to be mobile-friendly, easy to update by staff, and welcoming to a broad audience — including parents, youth, and seniors with varying levels of digital literacy.
SOLUTION
I designed and developed a responsive website that centered around clarity, accessibility, and functionality. The site included:
- Custom program registration forms for after-school and summer programs, allowing easy sign-up and data collection.
- An interactive events calendar to keep community members informed about upcoming workshops, meetings, and activities.
- A dedicated resources page linking to local food banks, housing assistance, employment services, and educational materials.
- CMS integration, enabling staff & board members to make updates with ease without needing technical support.
- Inclusive design principles, ensuring the website was ADA-compliant, mobile-optimized, and intuitive to navigate.
The final product became a reliable digital home for the organization’s outreach, programming, and community support — increasing engagement and reducing the administrative burden for staff.
