SYNOPSIS
SUMMARY/CHALLENGE
The American Black Film Festival (ABFF) needed a native mobile app to enhance the festival experience and foster real-time engagement among attendees. With a diverse schedule of screenings, panels, and events, the goal was to create an all-in-one digital tool that would keep guests informed, involved, and connected throughout the festival. The app needed to be more than just informational — it had to feel interactive, intuitive, and reflective of the vibrant, community-driven spirit of ABFF.
SOLUTION
I developed/produced a native events app designed specifically for the ABFF audience, with a seamless user experience that combined key information with interactive features. The app provided a centralized hub for attendees to navigate the festival and engage on a deeper level. Core features included:
- Attendee Registration: A smooth onboarding flow that allowed users to register for the festival and access personalized event content.
- Live Polls & Quizzes: Built-in engagement tools that encouraged participation during panels, screenings, and festival activities.
- Push Notifications: Timely alerts to notify attendees of session changes, time updates, and special announcements.
- Speaker & Hotel Info: Easy-to-navigate sections featuring speaker bios, session details, and nearby accommodation options.
- Sponsor Recognition: Strategically placed sponsor highlights throughout the app to ensure brand visibility and partnership value.
The result was a vibrant, functional, and interactive app that elevated the festival experience — improving communication, boosting audience interaction, and creating a more connected community for ABFF attendees.
